Physiotherapy - English word meaning- 'The treatment of disease or injury by physical methods such as massage, heat treatment, and exercise rather than by drugs or surgery'
Hello my name is Linda Jones. I am a fully qualified NHS Physiotherapy Technician and a member of the Society of Chartered Physiotherapists. I have worked in the NHS for many years and specialize in the older adults area of physiotherapy which focuses on specific needs and challenges in seniors. I work alongside Physiotherapists to deliver a programe of recovery.
Providing the techniques and physical therapeutic treatments to patients where functional movement is threatened by injury, disease or impairment. I aim to improve quality of life, reduce pain, restore function, and enable you to participate in activities you enjoy. Maintain or regain physical function, independence, and overall well-being.
I started 121homephysio to help older people achieve optimum mobility and stay fitter for longer with affordable therapy. If you have been seen by a Physiotherapist or Orthopedic Surgeon I guess you were seen and sent away away with a set of exercises, plus a video link. In my opinion we can't help people recover in this way. It leaves too many questions. Are the exercises being carried out correctly? If not are they making the condition worse? Is the patient motivated to do them? In both cases it leads to a
'non-recovery outcome'.
A NO OBLIGATION ASSESSMENT IS FREE OF CHARGE and takes approximately 1 hour
I offer a no obligation free of charge assessment to see if I can be of assistance to you. I will visit you at home and assess your treatment plan. Should you wish to have someone with you at your assessment that's absolutely fine.
I will take some information about you, your health history and what you would like to be able to do with the aid of physical therapy. You will have been seen by a healthcare professional and given a diagnosis.
I want to help you to achieve your goals and enjoy freedom of movement and feel more confident on your feet!

Stiff, painful joints causing immobility can be very painful.
Have you been seen by a healthcare professional and had your mobility assessed in both passive and active range of movement and any serious injury is ruled out? If so you may well have been told it will resolve itself with painkillers and exercises. I believe this is a poor level of treatment. I can help you with a combination of hands on massage and mobilty exercise.
This is key to regaining mobility and staying pain free for longer.
Have you returned home after a hospital stay? Or suffered a mobilty issue ie a fall?
Rehabilitation at home focuses on restoring function and strength after injury or surgery, often through gentle physio and exercise. It's crucial to follow a personalized plan developed with your healthcare provider. Activities might include low-impact exercises like, gentle stretches, and range of motion exercises. Additionally, hydration, nutrition, and rest is essential for optimal recovery. Sometimes you need a little help to achieve this. This is where I can help you.
As we age we lose muscle mass and strength. It typically begins at the age of 40 believe it or not! Muscle fibres shrink in size and the body's capacity for repair diminished contributing to fatigue, weakness and intolerance to exercise. BUT we can reverse this with Physical Therapy. Staying mobile as we age is crucial. Regular strength training, balance exercises, and flexibility exercises, all play a significant role in maintaining strength and mobility.
Improve physical function, and reduces the risk of falls. Light movement training can enhance overall health and well-being.
